Cooling TowersA cooling tower, as the name implies, cools down the water that has been heated by any industrial equipment or process. This is done by bringing heated water in direct contact with air, that results in reduced temperature of water. A pipeline is built to pump heated water to the cooling tower, where it is exposed to air. The air is continuously pulled up by a fan on the top of the cooling tower. A small amount of water evaporates during this process. The water is then pumped into the process equipment, where it again starts to absorb heat. This process continues to keep down the temperature of any process equipment.
